A bunch of years ago I was living out on my own and even though I desperately needed it, I was stubborn enough to decline hand outs from my family members when they offered to send me cash for the holidays. So they found a way around it by sending me Omaha Steaks for every gift exchange. 3 packages of steaks every 4 months deterred my need to spend money on anything else to eat.
We had a grill at my house and when the steaks started to quadruple up in my freezer I’d invite a few of my friends over to help me chip away at my bounty. (is swimming in steaks a thing?)This went on for a couple years.
Anyway, I kept hearing myself refereed to as ” Rachael’s here.. you know.. that steak girl” and variations of that. Until eventually, overtime,on occasion, in drunk bro voice it was shortened to Steak.
Anyway fast-forward a few years, and a steady job later, I was grocery shopping on the regular but still getting the occasional package of steaks from my grandma, and I needed a URL for a brand new blog I was about to start. I tried Driedfruit, desperately Squiddog, and at last Steaktooth.
Im kind of a being fan of oragnization so it was easy to just be steak every social media platform. I think thats where it really took off.
I also dont eat white meat.
